Our Torah school curriculum prepares children to apply Jewish Wisdom in their everyday lives
Our Educational Philosophy
This is not your grandparent's religious school! At TBI Torah School, we seek to empower learners to claim the wisdom of Torah as their own. At the same time that we strive to grow in Jewish observance and identity, our students learn that Jewish tradition touches upon all areas of human experience and that they can creatively apply the lessons of our ancestors to the complex and ever-changing conditions of the 21st Century. We are committed to the principle "דְּרָכֶיהָ דַרְכֵי נֹעַם, וְכָל נְתִיבוֹתֶיהָ שָׁלוֹם", "Her [Torah] ways are pleasantness and all of her paths as peace" (Proverbs 3:17); therefore, our goal is to make Torah come alive as Spiritual Technology that helps us to nurture deep relationships, be of service to the entire human family, and find meaning and wholeness.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation
Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation is conscious, though personal preparations are done with private tutors rather than in class. Students learn to take a leadership role in the Family Friday services.
